Verónica Domingo Alonso aims to redesign the aesthetics of the landscape from an intimate and personal vision. Her practice explores notions of place, space and the mapping of territories, utilising the material language from an expanded field of drawing knowledge. What she is proposing within her practice is a form of creation in which drawing and painting acquire an absolute value in the construction of a complex and abstract framework. Visual experimentation is underpinned by a delicate integration between drawing, painting, printmaking, photography and installation.
Her practice inherits and promotes a sense of history through its own manufacture, informed by knowledge of Asian art and calligraphy. Her works serve as a witness to creative endeavour negotiating concepts such as time, space, palimpsest, absence and memory.
